COLOMBIA HOPE FOR REFUGEE CHILDREN

For many years, Colombians living in the rural countryside and small towns have been forced to leave their land, homes, and possessions due to violence provoked by armed rebel groups fighting for control over land, resources, and power. These refugee families struggle to make a new life for themselves as they relocate to surrounding cities. They live in poor neighborhoods and deal with various problems, such as malnutrition, unemployment, and lack of adequate health care and education. Without education, children of refugee families are unlikely to escape their current situation.

The 2009 Children’s Service Project, “Hope for Refugee Kids” has brought in over $19,000 dollars and has provided the refugee children of Colombia with school supplies, basic school clothing and Bibles. THANK YOU for helping with your prayers and with your donations!

One characteristic of working with the refugee children and their families is the constant state of flux they face as they strive to find and obtain stability in their lives. WIth the constant change in the refugee neighborhoods in Colombia, there is a continual need for school supplies, school clothing, Bibles and school inscription fees for the children who want to study and to improve their lives. The Colombian Covenant appreciates your prayers and financial support in this partnership of ongoing outreach and ministry of hope to the refugee children of Colombia.
